Asus today launched a new motherboard that is high on features but low on cost. The value-for-money motherboard P5KPL-AM/PS is priced modestly at Rs 2,975 plus taxes, and boasts features like Anti-Surge Protection technology that protects the motherboard from voltage fluctuations, built-in 5000hr VRM (voltage regulator module), and support for 45nm Intel chips.
The Anti-Surge Protection technology provides for over-voltage and short circuit protection and power-good signal generation. Anti-Surge Protection continually monitors voltage levels of 5V, 12V, and 3V in real-time to deliver over-voltage and short circuit protection. If and when one of these supply voltage levels are either more or less than the specified normal operation voltage levels, Anti-Surge Protection will switch off the power to protect the motherboard and the CPU.
Other features include up to 1600FSB, 8 USB 2.0 ports, 2 DIMM memory slots (max. up to 4GB), Intel GMA 3100 graphics onboard, Crashfree BIOS, EZ Flash, Q-Fan, 2 PCI express slots, 4 SATA ports, and onboard LAN and audio.
